I recently started wrapping Opals.   I will have a variety of colors.  They are wrapped in 14k Gold filled wire and Argentium Sterling Silver wire.  I have been buying mostly man made opals which are affordable & still have a lot of fire.  The pictures really don't do the opals justice, but the flash does show the amount of fire in the opal.  I do have a supply of the smaller oval Opal gemstones in stock, so if that particular item is sold, you may still purchase one similar to that design.   It won't be exactly the same, but it will be close which make the wire sculptured pendants one of a kind.

The name OPAL was taken from the Roman word, opalus, which was derived from the Greek word opallios, both meaning ' change of color '. The amazing opal has been known since ancient times, possibly dating back to 400 B.C.  Early civilizations cherished opal and associated it with happiness and luck.  According to an old Arab myth, opals fell from the heavens in strikes of lightning, leading to their blief it could actually protect on from lightning and other dangers.
